I am a philosopher of science specialising in the philosophy of physics and the philosophy of AI. My current research, funded by a DFG Individual Research Grant (Eigene Stelle), examines the philosophical implications of deep learning in particle physics. I am based at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy at LMU Munich.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Institute of the University of Bonn (2016–2022), where I worked on the project Epistemology of the LHC: Model Building and Dynamics. I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Guelph in 2016, my M.A. from Concordia University in 2010, and my B.A. (Hon.) from Concordia in 2007.
My work engages with topics including scientific explanation, confirmation theory, effective field theories, model independence, and the epistemic role of deep learning in fundamental physics.
